HI’m so grateful for the warm and generous response to the new Full-Spectrum Doula Circle Podcast. Thank you dear Patrons who are helping to make this podcast possible!
There are now 3 full-length episodes:
  1. Alyssa Basmajian & Michele Ko, who've both written about the abortion doula movement, and who I talked with the day after the 2016 U.S. general election about what abortion doulas do.
  2. A brand new interview with Dr. Laura McGuire who talked with me about supporting young people through pregnancy and parenting, doula support for queer people, and more.
  3. And my 2016 conversation with Nneka Hall, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness (PAIL) advocate with an emphasis on working with Black families, who shares her personal story of pregnancy loss and how she supports Black families through loss.
Since I interviewed Nneka in 2016 a lot has been published about the epidemic of Black infant and maternal mortality. I'm sharing a reading list below for people who want to go deeper into that topic.

You can listen to the podcast:
  • On Apple Podcasts
  • On Spreaker

If you're getting benefit from the podcast, if you're enjoying it or learning something, would you please help me out by sharing it with your friends and colleagues and/or supporting it on Patreon?

    Doulas traditionally provide

non-medical, empowering support for birth. Full-spectrum doulas provide the same kind of support for the
full spectrum of pregnancy outcomes, including abortion.

We do this to create a culture of compassion, love, and justice in which all people have the freedom and resources they need to make free choices about their bodies and their families.

Full-Spectrum Doula Circle connects abortion/full-spectrum doulas and other reproductive support people
with information, education, and each other, to increase skills, decrease burnout, and deepen our wells of support,
with an emphasis on providing digital resources to connect doulas who are geographically dispersed.
